Conner and Makayla | Raleigh Engagement Photographer

I had the wonderful honor of capturing engagement photos for Conner and Makayla last month! They met each other through a mutual friend in college and have been together for almost four years. The weather was absolutely perfect the day of our photo shoot. The temperature was pleasant and cool, and the sun peeked out a couple of times from the clouds. Conner and Makayla were so natural in front of the camera, and basically every pose looked AMAZING! There were so many stunning photos, and I think it was because they radiated so much joy and excitement in each photo! They are truly one of the most kind, thoughtful, and considerate couples I know, and Iā€™m SO excited for their future together. Enjoy some highlights below!

Romantic Wedding at The Cotton Room | Durham Wedding Photographer

Iā€™m SO excited to share Roy and Tiffanyā€™s wedding with you all! They had a beautiful winter wedding at The Cotton Room in December, and I was so impressed this couple built their own wedding arch for the ceremony! I honestly thought it was part of the rental at the venue, but I learned they built and designed everything themselves. My jaw literally dropped in awe when I saw it! You have to take a look for yourself below! In addition, the DETAILS and decor were so romantic, chic, and elegant. From the ring box, to the programs, to the signs, to the wedding cake and donuts, to the chocolate wedding favors, to SO much moreā€”it was all so thoughtfully done!

Second, I remember the weather was rainy and chilly, so we didnā€™t have a chance to get shots outside. However, the venue was so beautifully decorated (and the big windows gave us a lot of natural light!), it didnā€™t stop us from getting gorgeous photos of the First Looks and portraits inside! When I captured the First Looks, I wonā€™t forget how sweet and tender the moment was between Roy and Tiffany. When they were reading their letters to each other, letā€™s just say by the end I had tears in my eyes, too! I had to keep blinking back the tears so I could see through the camera and not miss the shot!

Lastly, it was truly their love for one another that was so moving. They have such a deep, genuine love for each other and for the Lord, and it was beautiful to see how God brought them together (read their story here!). I loved how they gave praise and glory to the Lord as they sang, ā€œIn Christ Alone,ā€ for worship during the ceremony! After an amazing ceremony, reception, and dancing, we had an epic sendoff! When they came out, flower petals were thrown in the air and there was SO much energy, excitement, and cheering! There was a ton of joy and love in the air, and I absolutely loved how happy they both looked. Enjoy scrolling through some highlights below!

A Summer Engagement Shoot at Dix Park | Raleigh Engagement Photographer

Who remembers when the sunflowers were in bloom at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, NC? I remember there was a huge buzz a few weeks before they were in bloom, and know SO many people who were making plans to go see the sunflowers! Tiffany and Roy also chose to jump on the special opportunity to take photos with the sunflowers for their engagement photo shoot in Raleigh, and I'm SO glad they did! We had BEAUTIFUL LIGHT and the sunflowers were vibrant and in full bloom. It was truly a fun evening capturing this exciting new season for Roy and Tiffany, and getting to know the two of them better!

Roy is from a church here in Durham, NC and Tiffany is from a church in Ohio. They met when they both volunteered in a short-term mission trip to Taiwan in the summer of 2016, and taught English to elementary schools. Even though they didn't interact much during the trip, Roy reached out to a few Ohio team members afterwards to keep in touch, and that's when they began to chat...about everything!! They started dating in December 2016, and dated long-distance for the next year. In December of 2017, that's when Roy proposed to Tiffany!!

Enjoy scrolling through some of my favorite photos from the engagement session! I absolutely loved capturing their interactions with each other--they truly have a way of making each other laugh and giggle! You'll also notice they wore matching beaded bracelets for the photo shoot, which was something they wore while they were dating! Isn't that so sweet?! I look forward to photographing and serving this beautiful couple on their wedding day!!
