Celebrating 10 Years of Marriage | Raleigh Couple Photographer

Every season of life is worth celebrating, and wedding anniversaries are definitely something to commemorate! I recently had the honor of capturing 10th wedding anniversary photos for my dear friends, Lauren and Ryan. It was such a JOY photographing this special milestone for them! We captured their photos at the gorgeous NC Museum of Art in Raleigh, and it was a beautiful summer evening. Lauren mentioned that she wanted to capture photos of their wedding rings, and it was so fun to capture some creative shots with the warm golden sunlight behind them. She also still had her tiara from her wedding as well as her red Virginia Tech heels, and it was SO awesome to incorporate them into the shots at the end! Congrats again to this wonderful couple, and enjoy scrolling through some of my favorite moments below!

Jenn and John | Durham Family Photographer

I truly had the sweetest time taking photos for Jenn and John at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham! I learned that Jenn found me through Instagram (I’m always amazed at how technology and social media can bring people together nowadays!) and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the both of them! They both have such a gentle and kind demeanor, and the most beautiful connection with each other! They’ve been married for about two years (just like my husband and me!) and are originally from Texas.

One of my favorite parts of our portrait session was shooting with the American Tobacco sign (see last photo)! It is iconic and a great way of telling a family story. A lot of my clients moved here and/or may be planning to move again, and I wanted to make sure we capture this moment in time. In addition, I LOVED using the brick buildings in the background as it is also a very symbolic attribute of the Raleigh-Durham area! Enjoy scrolling through the photos and getting to know this couple!

Summer and Francesco | Durham Photographer

It’s so awesome when you get a client who can resonate with your work! Summer reached out to me to do a family photo shoot with her husband at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham. I remember chatting with her and learning that she’d like a casual photo shoot of the two of them that felt warm and intimate, but not make it feel like an engagement shoot. I also learned of their beautiful story! They met in a masters program in New York City in 2007, and became classmates and friends. They then reconnected in Chicago where Francesco was living in 2015 and Summer was visiting her brothers. Francesco went out to meet them, and well, the rest was history!

On the day of our shoot, we got a variety of shots around the Tobacco Campus. One of my favorite places was using the sidewalk that’s right outside the campus because it had a very Durham feel to it; the brick building in the background and the street gave their photo a mix of vintage and urban. I also LOVED using the brick wall and windows right outside the Power Plant! Their connection was so sweet and genuine, and they had the best smiles and laughs! There were SO many epic shots, and below are some highlights. Enjoy the photos and getting to know this wonderful couple!
