I had the honor of capturing some BEAUTIFUL lifestyle photos for this sweet family in Durham a few weeks ago! I remember Anne telling me that they wanted to remember this special time because their baby girl just turned ONE! :) Baby M was one of the friendliest babies I’ve met; she loved to wave her hand to say “hi!” and would literally just walk right up to you. Another memorable part of the shoot was seeing how much she loved her stuffed octopus! We captured some adorable photos with her sitting with her beloved octopus and wearing her cute birthday crown. My favorite part is honestly just capturing their family reading, playing, and simply being together :) It’s these everyday moments that truly make life meaningful and special! First birthdays are truly a special milestone to celebrate! I had the honor of working with Zepel family again, and we had such a great time photographing Olivia’s first birthday! :) She was such a delight and I loved how she would mimic her parents (like during peek-a-boo!). She also loves reading time, and it was so cute to see her go through her books and pull them off the shelf! I think my favorite part of the whole shoot was seeing her do the cake smash. She took a small taste first then went all in and put the whole cake in her face! It was HILARIOUS and we couldn’t stop laughing! :) Enjoy seeing some more special moments from this precious first birthday! Happy birthday again, Olivia!

Baby girl Z turned ONE a couple of weeks ago, and it was such a wonderful occasion! She was born right when the pandemic started last year (and has mostly known a world of masks and social distancing!), but that didn’t stop this family from celebrating this special milestone! One of the best parts of photographing this birthday was capturing her reaction to CAKE. I’ve found most babies either love it or have no interest in it. As you can see from the photos below, she did not seem too pleased with the texture! This sweet family proceeded to sing “Baby Shark” to cheer her up and it did the trick! It put a smile back on her face and it was so precious :) Enjoy the wonderful highlights from this ONE-derful birthday celebration!
