Summer Fun at Home | Hillsborough Family Photographer

I had SO much fun capturing photos of this sweet family again! We started off the shoot with some family portraits on the front steps, and then we captured a lot of candid shots of the kids! Since most kids are wiggly and are constantly on the move, I love incorporating photos of children moving and having FUN! One of the best ways to capture joyful expressions is letting your kids do what they love. During the session, I had the oldest son ride his bike around his family, and the grin on his face was priceless! I also loved capturing the boys on their scooters, playing in the treehouse, and being silly with their parents. I also snuck in a quick portrait of just the parents because I know it’s not often you get a photo of just the two of you (most people tell me the last time they got a professional photo of the two of them was their wedding day!).

Enjoy scrolling through some of my favorite highlights from this fun family session at home!

A Gorgeous Morning Shoot at Dix Park | Raleigh Family Photographer

Morning shoots are definitely the way to go during the scorching summers here in North Carolina! If you’re a local, you know how hot and humid it can get by the afternoon and evening. For happy kids and happy parents, I often suggest to schedule a shoot in the morning when it’s cooler and less sticky. It’s more comfortable for everyone, which means happier kids and more smiles! ;)

I recently had the honor of photographing adorable six month photos for this sweet family! Baby M loved looking at my camera during the shoot—it was as if she was studying my camera! She held a steady gaze with the camera for almost every shot, and was so sweet and calm during the shoot. I also loved how her parents incorporated Sophie (the popular giraffe teether) and “Cro-bot,” the crocheted robot, into the shoot! Her dad is an engineer, which I thought was so fitting for the Cro-bot :) Y’all, if you have something special that you’d like to incorporate into your shoot, please bring it! I highly encourage families to bring lovies or items that will help put their baby at ease; plus, it truly makes your photo extra special and memorable.

A Modern Newborn Session | Durham Newborn Photographer

I had the honor of capturing newborn photos for the Xu family about a month ago! It was a very special session because they were gearing up to move to the west coast, but still wanted to document this precious season of life at their home in Durham. Baby A was about two months at the time of this session, and was SO adorable! I absolutely LOVED her Durham outfit, and she gave the cutest little smiles! As we ended the shoot in the living room, I had the whole family on the couch including their dogs. One of them started licking Baby A’s feet, and it was so hilarious!

Enjoy the adorable highlights below from this sweet newborn session!
