A Sweet Newborn Session | Raleigh Newborn Photographer

Want to know one of my favorite things about being a family photographer? It’s watching families grow! I had the honor of working with Jenn and John again, and this time I captured NEWBORN photos for them :)

There were so many sweet moments during the session, and one of them was capturing Jenn and John feeding little E! Even though they fed him prior to my arrival, he made it known that he was still hungry and so we took a pause to feed him ;) I truly embrace the “pauses” in a shoot because I believe these unexpected, organic moments genuinely capture the reality of life. It captures the “behind-the-scenes” of parenthood because often times we forget to document and treasure the little moments—like feeding and burping your little one! This season of life is so fleeting and children are little only once.

I also loved capturing the affection and love Jenn and John had for little E! There was so much tenderness in the way they looked at him and held him, and I wanted to capture the intimacy between the bond of parent and child. Another thing that stood out to me was seeing Jenn and John’s interaction with each other! They showed SO much patience, grace, and kindness towards one another, and it was so beautiful.

Lastly, we took photos around Boylan Bridge and some photos outside their home, and it was awesome! It was golden hour and the light was PERFECT (every photographer’s dream!) and the hilarious part was baby E slept like a champ despite all the traffic noise!! :) Enjoy getting to know this wonderful family and enjoy the highlights below!

A Casual and Relaxing Maternity Session | Durham Maternity Photographer

I had the honor of capturing maternity photos for Amanda and Jonathan recently at the American Tobacco Campus! I loved how they opted to go for a casual and relaxing look, and they were SO easy going and fun to work with! One of the tips I send clients before a maternity shoot is to consider what you normally wear and what style best represents you! If gauzy gowns and flower crowns are not your thing, that is TOTALLY ok. If you like to keep things casual and simple (like jeans and a cozy sweater), I encourage you to go for that style!

During the shoot, we had so much fun walking around the ATC and catching up (they were formerly neighbors of mine!). Amanda and Jonathan were so natural in front of the camera, and their joy was so evident! Enjoy some of my favorite highlights below, and I can’t wait to capture their newborn session in just a few months!

Family is Everything | Raleigh Maternity Photographer

I had the BEST time taking family and maternity photos for Jo at Umstead Park! This was such a special shoot because I learned that her mom, aunt, and grandma (who was visiting from the Philippines!) would be visiting the Durham area to visit her during her pregnancy. She wanted to capture photos of all of them together during this special time, and I was SO honored to photograph them!

Even though it was fall, the weather that day was still a bit warm and humid! Fortunately, we had our shoot in the morning when it was a little cooler, and we were able to capture some BEAUTIFUL photos. What I loved most about these women was how much they would laugh, joke, and tease each other! Their laughter was full and hearty, and I could tell the strong bond they have with one another!

One of my favorite moments was capturing them all hugging and laughing together. I personally love photographing hugs and laughter because it truly captures real, genuine emotion! I also loved the photo of Jo giving her aunt a high-five!! They actually high-fived each other right after they took their portraits together, and I asked them to do it again! I thought it was such a great reflection of their personalities and relationship with one another :)

Enjoy scrolling through my favorites below, and I can’t wait for baby M to arrive in December!!
