A Special 75th Birthday Celebration | Raleigh Family Photographer

This family photo session was incredibly FUN, hilarious, and joyful! In celebration of grandpa’s 75th birthday, this family captured photos of this wonderful milestone together at Umstead Park in Raleigh. I absolutely loved the color scheme they picked out for their outfits (so perfect for fall!) and I also loved the humor they brought to the shoot! One of my favorite moments was capturing Jo and her sister giving their dad a kiss on the cheek—his expression was priceless! My other favorite moment was capturing them FLOSSING!! The oldest nephew was SO GOOD at flossing, and it was so endearing and fun to watch him teach everyone how to floss! By the end, everyone was flossing like a pro! :) Scroll down to see more AMAZING moments from this very special family session!!

Twin Boys is Double the Fun! | Seattle Family Photographer

I had the honor of photographing portraits of my cousin’s family during my recent visit to Seattle, and we had so much fun! We took pictures at the University of Washington (one of the most beautiful college campuses!) and it was PERFECT timing because the leaves were turning colors and beginning to fall.

We started off on Memorial Way and it’s one of my favorite spots to take photos because of the gorgeous backdrop. The light was soft and warm, and the beautiful crisp leaves were perfect for throwing! After capturing a couple of group portraits of the family, it was time for tossing the leaves in the air. And wow, the results were A-MAZING!!! The happiness captured on the kids’ faces was absolutely priceless! See for yourself below!

We also documented individual portraits of the twins and they were incredibly funny, silly, and oh so adorable! I love capturing multiple expressions when it comes to children photography because kids are so animated, uninhibited, and carefree. The twins had SO much energy and excitement, and it absolutely came through in the photos!

Childhood is so fleeting and capturing this moment in time is so, so precious. I still remember when they were born and just how little they were…and now they are running around, asking lots of questions, and have such an enthusiasm and curiosity for the world! How did they grow up so fast?!

All this to say, I hope y’all enjoy the highlights below!

The Mills Family | Raleigh Family Photographer

When Karmann contacted me to do an extended family session, I was so thrilled! Extended family sessions are perfect if you want to include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. to your shoot, and/or do a variety of locations. Documenting multiple generations is not something a lot of families do anymore, and making it happen is extra special. Oh, and did I mention we were able to capture grandparents from BOTH sides of the family?! Talk about an extra, EXTRA special session!

One of my favorite parts of the session was when we took photos out by the fields. We were recreating a photo they did a few years ago, with everyone staggered in different positions. I asked them to give me their best "vogue" pose, and they totally knocked it out of the park! In addition, we took a variety of portraits in the fields, and the golden hour lighting was STUNNING. Every single photo was absolutely gorgeous, but most of all, it was their connection and love for one another that made it even more beautiful. Enjoy the photos!
