Spring is one of the most beautiful times of the year to do photos! I had the honor of photographing maternity photos for my friends, Claire and James, and we captured some gorgeous photos at the NCMA in Raleigh. I remember it was forecasted to rain that day, but thankfully it stopped by the time it was our shoot! They were so relaxed during the shoot, and we captured some beautiful photos by the open field. I had SO much fun taking family photos for the Driskill’s a couple of weeks ago. The Driskill family is one of the most relaxed and easygoing families I’ve ever met! Even though the forecast was saying that it was going to rain on our session date, that didn’t stop this family :) The day of our shoot was cloudy with some intermittent rain, but we were still able to capture some ADORABLE shots of the family and the children.

When the rain started to come down a little harder, we continued the shoot back to their home, which was thankfully nearby! It was funny because Audrey’s parents and family were having dinner when we got home, but they were so warm and welcoming to have us continue the shoot! We then captured some additional photos of the whole family around their beautiful home. From snuggling on the couch to playing with toys, the most memorable part for me was capturing how much the oldest son loved to jump on the couch (see photos below!). We then ended the shoot with a little dance party with his family and auntie!

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to kick off the spring season by capturing maternity photos with Anna and Adam at the American Tobacco Campus! Can I just say they are one of the most down-to-earth and cheerful couples I’ve met, and we laughed a TON during the shoot? :) They are both originally from New York, and moved down to Durham in 2014 for Anna to attend grad school. Ever since the move, they’ve grown very fond of Durham and even got married here! During our portrait consultation, I was so excited to hear they wanted to genuinely capture who they were as a couple and document their excitement as their family was changing. I remember Anna describing this season as a “magical time in their relationship” and I thought that was such a beautiful sentiment!

One of my favorite moments during our photo shoot was when I was capturing portraits of just Anna, and I asked Adam to cheer her on…and he was SO enthusiastic, encouraging, and funny! It was incredibly endearing to see how much Anna laughed and how happy and excited they both were! My other favorite memory from the shoot was when they told me they’ve been doing yoga together to help with the pregnancy, and wanted to capture a photo of them holding a pose. I forget what the pose was called, but they were having so much FUN and laughed so much! I found myself laughing with them and could feel the joy they had! We ended the shoot with them dancing together, as they wanted to remember this sweet moment and re-enact from their wedding :)
