Beautiful Sunset Photo Shoot at Eno River | Durham Family Photographer

I had the honor of photographing the Prenshaw family again this past winter, and we had such an awesome time taking photos at West Point on the Eno in Durham! It was extra special because their daughter turned ONE, and it is incredible to see how much she has grown!

The day of our shoot was cool and crisp, and I was so excited the sun was out because it created GORGEOUS backlighting. One of my favorite parts of this shoot was simply seeing Carley and Eric interacting with their daughter, and seeing how much they can get this girl to giggle! I also loved seeing them laughing and playing together. There was a funny moment when their daughter was curiously studying the environment and found a leaf. She looked at it for a second and then proceeded to put it in her mouth! What was funnier was her mama copied her, and I quickly snapped a picture of that silly moment!

Enjoy some highlights below and seeing more beautiful photos from this family session!

Modern Fall Family Session | Durham Family Photographer

I had such a WONDERFUL time taking photos for the Neal family this fall! They have such a warm, kind, and gentle demeanor, and truly have the sweetest smiles! They were also incredibly natural in front of the camera, and every shot seriously looked amazing!

There were so many sweet moments from the shoot. One highlight was when I greeted them, their youngest greeted me with a big hug and I was so touched! He was full of smiles, and had such a happy and charming personality! We then walked to the first spot for photos, and the youngest was already smiling and laughing. Even though I didn’t pose the family yet, I HAD to take capture his adorable expression and that sweet moment! In fact, the first photo you see below was the very first photo I took from the shoot! I remember then asking how old he was and he said, “three,” and tried holding up three fingers (see photo below!). Again, it was SO sweet, funny, and adorable, and I had to capture that precious moment!

There truly were SO many other sweet and silly moments, and I really enjoyed seeing the loving connection they have with each other. I especially loved capturing the three boys and their brotherly bond, as well as capturing moments of just mom and dad :) As we were finishing up the shoot, we took photos near the south entrance of the American Tobacco Campus. I remember as I peered through my camera, I was so excited to see a RAINBOW right behind them!! It was so beautiful and special, and truly a wonderful way to end the shoot!

Enjoy some of my favorite photos below and getting to know this amazing family! :)

Welcoming Baby #4 | Raleigh Newborn Photographer

I had such a wonderful time capturing newborn and family photos for the Huntley family! We did two sessions—a lifestyle session at home and one at Umstead Park—and both shoots were absolutely delightful. I think what I loved most about working with this family is documenting their love and affection with one another, and seeing how much fun they have being together! It was especially sweet to see how the three older siblings were doting on their baby brother, too :)

For the newborn session, there were SO many sweet and tender moments. One of my favorites was capturing the siblings’ interaction with their baby brother. There was a funny moment when Grant, the older brother, touched his baby brother’s feet. He was genuinely surprised at how soft they were, and his amazement was priceless! I also loved capturing Norah, their second daughter, and her tenderness towards her baby brother. She LOVED helping when it came to calming the baby down or snuggling, and was always nearby to help! There was one photo in particular where she was peeking around the bed (see below!) and watching us when I was photographing the parents and baby—it was so precious!

I also had a blast capturing their family photos at Umstead Park in Raleigh, and I LOVED capturing their joy and silliness! Before we started the shoot, the kids found a piece of pine needle in a spiderweb, and thought it would be funny to pretend they have superpowers to make it fly. Another memorable moment was getting a photo of all the siblings sitting together. Baby Isaac started crying, and I asked the older siblings to help soothe him by going “shhhh shhhh shhhh” (like a live baby shusher). And you know what? It worked! Lastly, at the end of the shoot the kids all thanked me for taking their photos, and I was so touched! Their oldest daughter also gave me a beautiful little crystal she found at the park as a way of saying thanks, and I thought that was so sweet :)
